Trip to Oklahoma

This past weekend, Shelby had her first trip to OK to visit Granny & Papa. Grammy and Papa were there, as well as Auntie Bev and Jennifer. It was a very exciting time and Shelby loved it! She was quite tired last night when we got home, but is back to her usual happy self!
Shelby picked up and shook her first rattle without our assistance last night. She was pleased. She is also enjoying tummy time just a little more now that we are rolling up a receiving blanket and placing it under her chest and arms. She is getting stronger! This morning, Shelby learned what the animals on her mobile say. She absolutely loved the cow mooing (courtesy of Momma, of course), the duck quacking, the dog woofing, the sheep baaing, and the horse neighing. :)
Last week, Shelby weighed exactly 11 lbs. We will weigh her this afternoon and I would bet she'll weigh approximately 11 lbs, 6 oz.
All in all, she is growing nicely.

Pictures
Well, Shelby decided the first attempt at pictures wasn't enough. Therefore, we're gonna try again Thursday. I've learned a valuable lesson, it might not be smart to schedule pics the day after immunizations! :)

Immunizations - Oh Boy!

Shelby got her second round of immunizations this morning. She did really well, up to the point where they stuck her w/ the needle! She is doing much better now. She weighs 10 lbs, 3 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. The doctor is happy w/ how Shelby is progressing and says she looks really great! Also, she held her first rattle this morning! She was pretty pleased w/ herself!
Andy may need to work a little harder in swaying Shelby toward the guitar. It seems she really likes a Mozart song in her activity gym. She giggles and gets excited whenever it plays. (it couldn't be because Momma plays it for her in the car all the time...)
Tomorrow, Shelby is getting her picture taken at Camera Angles. She'll get her pic taken at 4, 8, and 12 mos. We'll probably have Halloween and Christmas ones taken, too!
Friday, Rainbows comes out again for a check up. I can't wait to impress them w/ how well she's doing!!
For those who haven't seen Shelby in a while, this pic is what she typically looks like right now. She is practicing sticking out her tongue.
