Vet Vist

Shelby, Bailey, and I went to Bogue Animal Hospital today to get Bailey's nails trimmed. Everyone thought Shelby was just adorable! Dr. Bogue peeked his head in and said she was a beautiful baby. It was hard work maneuvering both the doggie and baby.
Yesterday, Shelby and Momma went to Walmart twice (first time she started smacking and Momma was afraid she'd start crying and/or screaming, so we went home). She also went to the doc's office to get weighed: She's now 9 lbs, 6 oz.

Bath Time

Today, Shelby graduated from the little pink hospital tub to her bigger bath tub! She fits in it really good. This is also the first bath that she enjoyed. She smiled and cooed and didn't cry once!! I think she's gonna start to love bath time.
Yesterday, Rainbows came out to visit again. All in all, Shelby is developing great. The occupational therapist gave us some ideas of things to work on, including tummy time exercises. Well, Shelby is almost done watching her cute farm animal mobile, so I'd better get back to her!

Visit with Grammy
Today, Grammy came over and watched Shelby for a couple of hours while I ran some errands. Shelby told me this evening that she enjoyed the visit! :)
Andy has been out of town since Sunday, but is coming home tonight. Shelby (and Joanna) sure can't wait to see him!
An occupational therapist from Rainbows is coming out Friday morning to see how Shelby is doing. We'll find out if there is anything we need to be working on.
Also, Shelby is really starting to giggle and smile when Momma tickles her tummy and talks like Donald Duck. :)

Out and About
Well, Shelby is learning how to shop! Not sure if that is a good thing or not.... In the last few days, Momma and Shelby have gone to Target, Towne West, Petsmart, and Hobby Lobby. So far, she has stayed asleep through most of it. (although, I think I saw her eyes peep open for a few minutes in Petsmart)
We've also gone on daily walks around the neighborhood. Shelby really enjoys those, too (she mostly stays asleep!) One of these days, she's going to wake up and realize that it's much too exciting to sleep through!

Test Results

Yesterday, Shelby went to Wesley and had a hearing test - it turns out she can hear us just fine (she just doesn't want to listen... :) Also, her EEG results came back normal! We were happy to find that out. The doctor must be right - maybe she does have reflux and that's why she had those episodes? In any event, she is doing good. Grandma Phyllis is coming over this afternoon to watch Shelby for a while so I can go to the grocery store!

Busy Weekend

This past weekend, Shelby had her first out of town trip. We all went to Lincoln, KS to visit Andy's Grandma and Papa and to go on our annual Dove Hunting Trip. Bella did really great locating the birds this year. Shelby wanted to go, but was just too busy with Grandma, Grammy, and Papa Charlie back at the house. She also got to meet all of Papa Craig's cousins and Aunt Melba. Needless to say, she had a very busy weekend and was pretty worn out when we got home. She loved her cute camo outfits that Uncle John and Aunt Nina got her!
Tomorrow, Shelby goes to Wesley to have a hearing check-up. She passed her first test shortly after she was born. This is just a recheck to make sure nothing has changed. Wish us luck (especially Joanna since she's the one who gets to take her... :) Oh, yeah, we still haven't heard the test results from the EEG. As soon as we talk w/ the doctor, we'll let everyone know.

Rainbows Visit 2

Rainbows came out to evaluate Shelby yesterday and they think she's mostly on target for where she needs to be. They'd like to see her holding her head up a little more, baby talking more frequently and looking to the left; the way we always held her in the NICU was where she'd look to the right, so she doesn't typically look left. She will, but doesn't tend to choose to. They think she's a little ahead of schedule on her social skills...I guess baby's aren't typically that interested in people yet at her adjusted age of one month. She will be on an adjusted age schedule till she's 2 years old.
Also, she got to go visit Grandma last night at her house and today Grammy watched her while I worked on the yard for a little while.
